Delaware may be the second smallest state in the U.S. (after Rhode Island), but it is big with golfers and is the home of 52 courses. They range from the majestic Wilmington Country Club, a private course with a tradition that goes back to 1901, and where Bobby Jones and women’s golfing legend Glenna Collett Vare played before large galleries, to Woodland Park Golf Course, fun for a quick nine after work. The Peninsula Golf and Country Club in Millsboro gets high praise from players, as does the Bayside Resort Golf Club in Shelbyville.
